Refund & Cancellation Policy
What happens when a CalInvite needs to be cancelled, rescheduled, or refunded.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, rescheduling, no-shows, payment errors, and related issues are handled for meetings purchased through CalInvite. CalInvite is operated by AKG Creative Inc d/b/a CalInvite (“CalInvite,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
CalInvite is built around a simple transaction: a guest pays $15 for a 15-minute meeting with a host. Payment occurs before the guest is shown the host’s available booking times. Because payment and scheduling happen in separate steps, different refund rules may apply depending on whether the guest has selected and confirmed a meeting time.
How CalInvite Payments Work
A guest pays $15 before accessing a host’s available booking times. After successful payment, CalInvite unlocks the host’s availability so the guest can select an available 15-minute meeting.
Once a meeting is successfully booked, CalInvite may create calendar events, send confirmations, update the booking record, and initiate the processes associated with the host’s earnings. Under the current pricing model, the host keeps $12 from a completed paid CalInvite. CalInvite covers applicable payment-processing fees and uses the remaining balance to operate the service.
Payment Before Availability
Payment for a CalInvite does not guarantee that a specific date or time requested by the guest will be available. The purpose of payment is to unlock access to the host’s current availability, which may be determined using the host’s CalInvite settings and connected calendars.
Availability may change because of new calendar events, synchronization delays, scheduling conflicts, time-zone differences, calendar-provider outages, or another guest completing a booking before a particular time is selected.
If No Available Time Works for You
If you successfully pay for a CalInvite but have not yet confirmed a meeting time, and none of the available times reasonably work for you, you may request a refund by contacting support@calinvite.com.
Your request should include the email address used for the purchase, the host you attempted to book, and any other information reasonably necessary for us to locate the transaction. CalInvite may verify that a meeting was not booked before approving the refund.
Submitting a refund request does not automatically guarantee a refund. We may review the transaction, booking status, payment status, and other relevant information before making a determination.
Once a Meeting Has Been Booked
Once a guest selects an available time and the meeting is confirmed, the host has reserved time specifically for that guest. A confirmed booking may prevent the host from offering that same time to another person.
Because the host’s time has been reserved, payments for confirmed meetings are generally non-refundable except where this policy specifically provides otherwise, where CalInvite determines that a refund is appropriate, or where applicable law requires a refund.
Guest Cancellations
If a guest chooses not to attend a confirmed meeting, forgets the meeting, becomes unavailable, changes their mind, or otherwise cancels for reasons unrelated to the host or a CalInvite technical failure, the payment is generally non-refundable.
Guests should only select a meeting time they reasonably expect to attend. Purchasing access to availability or reserving a host’s time should not be treated as a temporary hold while the guest decides whether they want the meeting.
Guest No-Shows
If a guest fails to attend a confirmed meeting, the guest is generally not entitled to a refund. The host reserved the scheduled time and may have been unable to accept another meeting during that period.
Arriving late does not automatically extend the meeting beyond its scheduled end time and does not automatically entitle the guest to a full or partial refund.
Host Cancellations
If a host cancels a confirmed meeting and a reasonable rescheduling option is not provided or accepted, the guest may be eligible for a refund.
CalInvite may review the booking record, calendar information, communications available to CalInvite, and other relevant information when determining whether a host cancellation qualifies for a refund.
Host No-Shows
If a host fails to attend a confirmed meeting, the guest may request a refund by contacting support@calinvite.com.
We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify the no-show. If we determine that the host failed to attend the confirmed meeting and the guest attended or reasonably attempted to attend, CalInvite may issue a refund or provide another appropriate resolution.
Rescheduling
CalInvite may allow a confirmed meeting to be rescheduled where that functionality is available. A rescheduled meeting remains subject to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Rescheduling is not guaranteed. A host is not required to provide a different meeting time unless CalInvite’s functionality or another agreement between the host and guest specifically allows it. If the parties independently agree to reschedule, they are responsible for ensuring that the new meeting details are accurate.
Technical Failures
If a meeting cannot reasonably occur because of a material technical failure caused by CalInvite, we may issue a refund, permit rescheduling, or provide another appropriate remedy after reviewing the circumstances.
Examples may include a CalInvite system error that prevents a confirmed booking from being created, displays materially incorrect booking information, or otherwise prevents the transaction from functioning as intended.
Problems caused by a user’s internet connection, computer, mobile device, browser, video-conferencing software, email provider, incorrect time-zone settings, or other systems outside CalInvite’s reasonable control do not automatically qualify for a refund.
Calendar Integration Issues
CalInvite may use connected Google Calendar, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and other supported calendars to determine host availability. Calendar providers and synchronization systems can occasionally experience delays, outages, expired authorizations, or other errors.
If a calendar integration failure results in a material scheduling conflict that prevents the meeting from reasonably taking place, CalInvite may review the circumstances and determine whether a refund, rescheduling opportunity, or other resolution is appropriate.
A calendar conflict does not automatically guarantee a refund. We may consider whether the host and guest were able to complete the meeting, reschedule it, or otherwise resolve the conflict.
Duplicate Charges
If you believe you were charged more than once for the same CalInvite because of a payment or technical error, contact support@calinvite.com.
We will review the relevant Stripe transaction records and CalInvite booking information. If we confirm that an unintended duplicate charge occurred, we may refund the duplicate transaction.
Incorrect Host or Accidental Purchase
Guests are responsible for confirming that they are purchasing a CalInvite from the intended host before submitting payment. Accidentally purchasing access to the wrong host does not automatically create a right to a refund.
If the payment has been completed but no meeting has been booked, contact us promptly. We may consider a refund based on the transaction status and circumstances.
Meeting Quality and Satisfaction
A refund is not guaranteed because a guest disliked the conversation, disagreed with the host, did not receive the answer they wanted, considered the meeting unhelpful, or did not achieve the business or personal outcome they hoped to achieve.
CalInvite provides access to a host’s scheduled time. Payment does not guarantee a sale, investment, partnership, introduction, referral, employment opportunity, endorsement, recommendation, follow-up meeting, business relationship, advice, or any other specific outcome.
Meetings That End Early
A CalInvite is scheduled for up to 15 minutes. A meeting ending before the full 15 minutes does not automatically qualify for a full or partial refund.
However, if a host materially fails to provide the scheduled meeting without reasonable justification, CalInvite may review the circumstances and determine whether a refund or other remedy is appropriate.
Inappropriate Conduct
CalInvite may deny a refund where a meeting is ended because a guest engages in harassment, threats, abusive behavior, unlawful conduct, explicit or inappropriate behavior, fraud, or another material violation of CalInvite’s Terms of Service.
Likewise, if a host engages in conduct that materially violates the Terms of Service or prevents the guest from reasonably receiving the scheduled meeting, CalInvite may review the situation and determine whether a refund or other remedy is appropriate.
Refund Requests
Refund requests should be sent to support@calinvite.com as soon as reasonably possible after the issue occurs. To help us investigate efficiently, include the email address used for the transaction, the host’s name or CalInvite profile, the meeting date and time if one was booked, and a brief explanation of what happened.
Do not send payment card numbers, bank credentials, passwords, OAuth tokens, or other sensitive authentication information by email. We can locate transactions using other identifying information.
Refund Review
CalInvite may review payment records, booking records, calendar status, meeting status, account activity, Stripe transaction information, communications sent through or generated by CalInvite, and other information reasonably necessary to evaluate a refund request.
We may request additional information from the guest or host when necessary to understand what occurred. Failure to provide information reasonably necessary to investigate a request may prevent us from approving the refund.
How Refunds Are Issued
Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method through Stripe. CalInvite does not control how quickly a bank, card issuer, or other financial institution posts a refund after it has been processed.
Depending on the payment method and financial institution, an approved refund may take several business days or longer to appear. A refund marked as processed by CalInvite or Stripe may therefore not immediately appear on the guest’s account.
Host Earnings and Refunded Meetings
If a transaction is refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back, the host may no longer be entitled to the $12 host earnings associated with that transaction.
If the host has already received funds related to a transaction that is later refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back, CalInvite or Stripe may deduct, reverse, recover, offset, or otherwise account for those funds as permitted by applicable law, Stripe’s terms, and the host’s connected-account agreement.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If a guest disputes a CalInvite charge with their bank, card issuer, or payment provider, Stripe and CalInvite may receive information about the dispute and may submit transaction, booking, attendance, communication, or other relevant records in response.
Users should contact support@calinvite.com first when they believe a legitimate billing or service issue has occurred so we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
Fraudulent, abusive, or intentionally misleading chargebacks may result in restriction or termination of a CalInvite account.
Fraud and Abuse
CalInvite may deny, delay, reverse, or investigate a refund where we reasonably suspect fraud, payment abuse, account manipulation, repeated refund abuse, chargeback abuse, unauthorized payment activity, or another violation of the Terms of Service.
We may also suspend or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect CalInvite, hosts, guests, Stripe, payment networks, or other users.
Third-Party Payment Processing
Payments and refunds are processed using Stripe. Stripe, card networks, banks, and other financial institutions may impose their own processing requirements, restrictions, timelines, or dispute procedures.
CalInvite cannot guarantee the timing of a refund after it has been submitted to Stripe or another financial institution, and we are not responsible for delays caused by a guest’s bank, card issuer, payment network, or other third-party financial service.
Exceptions Required by Law
Nothing in this policy limits any refund, cancellation, consumer-protection, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted. If applicable law gives you rights that are more protective than this policy, those legal rights will apply.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy as CalInvite evolves, our payment or booking systems change, our third-party integrations change, or applicable law requires updates. When we make changes, the “Last Updated” date associated with this page will be revised.
Unless otherwise required by law, the policy in effect at the time of a transaction will generally govern that transaction.
